Position Summary

The Finance Controller – EV Charging Europe will lead the financial control, accounting, compliance and reporting framework for the European EV Charging business.

The role will ensure that new charging business models are translated into robust, scalable and compliant finance processes across multiple European countries. It will work closely with the UK Finance Business Partner, China HQ Finance, local country finance teams, Tax, Treasury, IT and external advisers.

The role is expected to own financial integrity, accounting governance and control, rather than commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the financial control framework for the European EV Charging business.
Establish and maintain accounting policies and processes covering:
Revenue recognition
General Ledger
Fixed Assets
CAPEX accounting
Accruals and provisions
Intercompany accounting
Cost allocation
Own and coordinate the European month-end closing process.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across European markets.
Review country P&L, balance sheet and key reconciliations.
Coordinate VAT, invoicing and local statutory requirements with Tax teams and external advisers.
Support implementation of CPO/eMSP accounting and intercompany settlement models.
Establish internal controls covering revenue, pricing, payment, invoicing, settlement and CAPEX.
Coordinate with local Finance and shared-service teams to ensure consistent finance execution.
Support internal and external audits.
Identify accounting, tax, financial-control and compliance risks and drive remediation.
Provide reliable actual financial data to support management reporting and FP&A.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent preferred.
6–10 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting or regional finance.
Strong IFRS and financial-reporting knowledge.
Experience in multinational / multi-entity environments.
Experience in EV Charging, Energy, Automotive or Infrastructure preferred.
Good understanding of European VAT and cross-border transactions.
Strong ERP knowledge; SAP experience preferred.
Fluent English.
