Team/Role Overview

The Regulatory Reporting role is a senior analyst position within the Controllers Organization that will report up through the Global Head of Regulatory and Capital Reporting. The individual will work with Finance reporting teams as well as the Technology department on automation and support the preparation, analysis and submission of regulatory reports to various constituencies (local regulators, U.S. Federal Reserve, OCC, etc.) based on applicable requirements such as U.S. Regulatory and local regulatory reporting rules and instructions. The position will have a high level of visibility within the organization with opportunities to work directly with other Finance and non-Finance functions throughout Citi, including the Businesses, Risk, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, as well as Enterprise Technology, & Operations.

Local Regulatory Reporting Senior Data Specialist will analyze data demands, and the use of the data of legacy processes as well as available data sources, check the availability of data and enhance current solutions in order to meet new requirements.

Focus of the job is to maintain and develop data sources catering for local regulatory reporting needs achieving the following expectations:

• Standardize databases across entities reporting needs to the extent possible

• Use Citi’s standard data distributors to the extent possible

• Meet Citi’s data governance standards

• Working with reporting teams and BAs improve and develop current data source solutions

• The data sources are expected to allow the maximum automation achievable with the automation tools available.

The new colleague will liaise with several departments outside of Finance, many of them located overseas, thereby gaining exposure to a broad range of international stakeholders.

The Senior Specialist will potentially have to oversee and supervise the work of other members of the team.

What you’ll do

• Understand data requirements and challenges from reporting teams

• Analyse data needs and identify data sources & assist in the transition from legacy to standard data

• Work with Chief Data Office to register reporting attributes as Critical Data Elements

• Investigate and escalate data quality issues using Citi's IMR process

• Create and analyse data workflows to provide high quality data to regulatory reporting users

• Facilitate constructive dialogue between multiple departments at global, regional and country level at various levels of seniority to provide effective solutions to meet strategic data goals

• Liaise with Technology teams to ensure requirements mean the same for everyone on data processes and structures

What we’ll need from you

• Bachelor's/University degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

• 5+ years of work experience in data management, financial/management/risk reporting or system implementation roles

• Familiarity with advanced data integration/transformation workflow tools (e.g. KNIME, Alteryx, Talend, Dataiku, Python etc) is an advantage

• Experience with project end-to-end management is preferred (from Business Analysis point of view)

• Technology aptitude: you will have to co-operate with Technology staff, we need you to speak their language

• Strong oral and written communication skills in English, with ability to synthesize complex concepts, and influence change

• Organized personality, attention to detail and independent working style
