The Summit YMCA is a great place to get your experience in teaching classes. They offer a variety of classes, members are committed, memberships are affordable. Staff are friendly and helpful. There's limited opportunities to advance and pay rate is on the low end.
Not a bad place to work but you never really work full time. The most hours you will get is 37 hours. And the insurance was good but I had to pay so much in to it. I I paid over $500 a month for it. And at this job you wear many hats. The position you apply for will not be all that you do.
Not enough of a salary to cover the high insurance.
Working at the Y is a great place to work! The only thing I didn’t care for was low staff when it came to staying in ratio! It was a pain when it was time for someone to go home finding others from different rooms or waiting for kids to leave! I really enjoyed working at the Y overall!! I love the staff and families were awesome!!!
I met a lot of different people and I like to promote people's bonding. The major benefit is a free family membership to Summit YMCA. I am a sub teacher so I was exposed to teach all styles of yoga and gained a lot of positive attitude and practical skills.
