Calling parents related to camper retention. Organizing registration for the different camping sessions. Reviewing files and documents for camp education. Putting together and recording information related to the camper surveys. Escorting campers to the medical units in the area for treatment. Initially in charge of the Trading Post retail operations (opening and closing). I am a Village Chief Leadership alumnus of Camp Conrad Weiser. I was responsible for Trail Blazer crew 13 year old boys and my assistant counselors who worked under my supervision for the summer. This recent employment was Conrad Weiser's 70th anniversary. The camp is now co-ed and even more international, embracing the ICEP (International Campers Exchange Program). The hardest part of the job was being in the mountains on crutches. The most enjoyable was seeing how much the camp has grown from 400 to over 600 acres. An impressive community of global counselors and campers growing and learning. Most importantly keeping everyone safe to appreciate.
Working with kids through the YMCA changed my life. Our management team was a split between amazing and useless. Some cared about there staff and nurtured the team spirit and the others actively worked against this
