I like the work but never got any chance of advancement.

I've been working for WWTS for 10 years, yet never an opportunity to go full-time. I am trained on Dell, Lenovo, and HP, have applied several times for full time, with no luck.

Underpaid and overworked

As a part-time employee I was offered no benefits. I went over my 30 hours per week limit many times, and anything over 30hours was done at my own expense in both time and money. This often happens when I'm over 25 miles from home. I skipped out on conference calls the entire time with WWTS because my schedule was so tight, plus they ain't paying me for spending an hour on the phone, Only for milage and work order hours. They expect you to look professional but didn't issue company polo shirts, but they made sure you received the weblink to the WWTS onlinestore we're you can buy your own company uniform items from WWTS out your own pocket, basically giving your paycheck back to them for something most businesses give to new employees for free. Even Walmart and McDonald's and circle K gas stations give out free company logo shirts.

Great part

Work was good at first then went down hill went from getting 4 to 5 calls a day to 1 or none. Pay was good and they pay by miles to each customer. And they lack of communication

Part Time Onley

Lately company converted all techs to part time. The company did that suddenly! All Field technicians lost their benefit suddenly, No healthcare, no PTO.

Fine, learned a lot.

What is the best part of working at the company?Am retired now, was field tech working (in theory) on PCs, laptops, printers, cash registers, and TVs. Install, setup, and repair. Reality was 99% was warranty repair of Dell, HP, IBM and Lenovo laptops. (How often do you drop your cash register?) I liked the work and liked meeting new people, most of whom were friendly and appreciated my being there. Company generally good to work for. Mostly self directed, a lot of driving, seldom took lunch. WWTS monitors techs through phone ap, one time I had driven for 4 hours, stopped at a Walmart to use bathroom, bought one of their packaged salads and was eating it out in the parking lot, noonish. Supervisor called and acidly asked why I had stopped. But in the 3.5 years I had worked for them this was the only time they managed to annoy me. I am getting bored and running out of projects around the house, have considered asking them if they could use some part time help. Except Lenovo, I VERY much don't like trying to fix them!!What is the most stressful part about working at the company?The crazy driving, averaged 250 miles a day. I once drove (round trip) 470 miles to replace a PC power supply. And with Laser printers I seemed to often get people who had them installed in very crowded and poorly lit places with shag rugs!! What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Okay, as I mentioned this is field tech job. Other than a weekly call in meeting not much personal interaction.

Fun job

I love the fact they got me certified by a few oems. New places and faces at a variety of sites. Have traveled to several states at their expense for work. I do recommend giving it a go. Pay is decent, mileage rate is decent. It's a fun job. It definitely pays off if your motivated and disciplined in your work ethic. Productivity bonuses are easily obtained and weekly paid. The benefits make up for any discrepancy in base pay. I also love the networking opportunities this job provides.

Great job but..

Great job but it really depends on your district manager. There are times where you get sent 2 hours away to a site even though there is another tech that is 10 minutes from that site. But like I said, it depends if you have a good district manager or not.

Foot in door and that is it

I have been here for almost 3 years. The interview was too easy even for people who are not techs. If it wasn't for my coworker's help, I would have been too overwhelmed and not know how to do anything. Training felt like a participation award for the certs. You could be in your area for a day but then get sent 200+ miles out for one call when you are already loaded with your own area. Pay is not good for what you are doing and along with the mileage pay. Benefits were way too high in price for how much you were actually making. This job will destroy your vehicle in the long run. They will take away your calls when you have the parts and give it to another tech and there could be no proper communication. This could lead into customers getting canceled and then getting yelled at. Job security is not there and can either be laid off or demoted to part time. This leads into being slammed with angry customers cause there is nobody to help out. Been asked to do jobs that have not been trained on and are much more difficult. Higher ups will call you a resource to your face and not listen to the techs complaints or concerns.

A once wonderful opportunity turned sour.

I was hired on with WorldWide Techservices right as a large backlog of repair tickets started to flood area markets. I was met with a trial-by-fire style of training due to the other area techs being out. I quickly learned I am the beholder of my schedule, I control it and make how my day goes. Use of my own personal vehicle with paid mileage was a nice perk to me, as I am most comfortable in a car I know deeply, and thus I was not limited at the end of my days to return a work vehicle home or to an office. The pay and upper management structure as of 09/2023 has changed, it has seemed that in order to cut costs they have moved a significant portion of their full time technicians to “Dynamic” roles which is just a fancy working for this now being part time, and they are not required to provide insurance benefits. The CEO took a $10,000,000 bonus in the fiscal year of 2022, but they can’t afford to keep technicians full time due to their perceived “area volume” issues. Senior management does not listen to the supervisors of technicians and will commonly talk down to technicians on company wide conference calls. I used to love this job, now I’m just here to survive.

You will put alot of miles on your vehicle

Would avoid this job. To many miles of driving. Awkward working in customers homes. Tickets are not consistent enough. Now on day 3 of no tickets. Not enough work. You will work from the time you start till the end of your shift. You won't have time to take a break or lunch. You start at 9am and usually don't get on the road till about 10am. You have to put an hour time frame to schedule client repairs. Alot of work and little reward.

Dishonest, disrespectful, unstable, unappreciative to and of their employees

The work is interesting and challenging. The upper management is controlled by 'bean counters' who do not understand the reality of the services provided. It is required that techs close 4 calls a day, and numbers are tossed out how that is possible. And it is in major population areas where travel to sites is less than 30 minutes. Rural areas, where travel can be hundreds of miles to a single call, closing 4 a day is not possible. Instead of developing a metric for the two different types of service areas, they hold everyone to the same standard. If rural techs do not perform to the metric of urban/suburban techs they are fired or reduced to part time. No benefit options. There is no warning given, just, a call on Monday saying take part time or get lost. They don't care how long you've worked for the company. If the tech is moved down to part time, and the tech was working at or more than 40 hours, rather than keep them on full time, they will hire a second part time tech. Cheaper for them and they are financially unstable at this time. They need every tech to complete 4 calls a day to make the company solvent.

Good

It was an okay place to work.I got to become a Teamleader after a couple of months which gave me the experience. I had a great team to work with at the time.

Wonderful experience

Managers don't call you until you have to do priority work. Aside from that, you are free to work your hours just get at least three tickets closed for the day. The more tickets you close, the higher your pay but you get paid for your hours (40) not just the time on a ticket. Mileage is reimbursed. Weekly pay!

Don’t recommend

Unless you have experience fixing laptops and PC’s, it could be very difficult. Going into people’s houses is awkward. My immediate manager was great but your immediate manager doesn’t have much say and it likely won’t benefit you.

Only if you really need the experience

You'll rack up miles on your car like crazy, have managers breathing down your neck about performance even if you're doing a good job, be given the wrong information to contact customers, sometimes the wrong address and somehow, it'll still be your fault. The only brightside about this job is that you're thrown to the wolves and have to figure stuff out on your feet, which makes you fantastic at troubleshooting equipment for your future job. Oh and remember to make connections when you're onsite somewhere. If you do a good enough job and seem competent there's a chance they'll offer you a job. They just fired a bunch of people and the company looks like it's ok it's last leg so just a heads up if you think about working here.

It's a great job that is way I have been with them for 9 years

Wwts was a great job to work at. Until they changed upper management. Now upper management is looking for ways to screw over their techs. 1. no raise this year. 2. milage reimbursement is .43 a mile with raising gas it bearly covers you gas much less wear and tear. 3. They took away Christmas bonuses. 4. Management retaliation if you speak up

Decent all round but nothing special

Don't have to deal with negative people for too long. The pay is... alright. The days go by super quick. But thats about it. Nothing to jump up and down for joy about. It will be hard on your car though.

an amazing job if you don't like being in an office all day, Horrible for your car.

Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, you get PTO, you get holidays off. Like meeting new people everyday? Good at fixing laptops, desktops, and servers? ( if you're a L3 engineer) you could finish work by 1, and still clock for 8 hours.I absolutely love working on computers, so this job is easy for me. but not everyone will see it that way. thankfully, the support you get from them is top tier .You're for sure going to drive Hundreds of miles per week, Which is going to wear out your car fairly quick. last time I checked, .43 cents per mile you drive. and only half of what you drive is paid on returns from a ticket. There's no system/support in place to cover for your car if damage happens. and your usual "wear & Tear" parts are all on you. they don't help/reimburse you for the three sets of tires, or the two sets of bearings (this is what I've gone through so far). or anything for that matter. They make sure you have Mid-Level insurance prior to work. there's hardly any communication from anyone above your direct supervisor aside from the occasional email. and 9/10 times, I feel alone. My typical day: I wake up around 8:30 check my work phone for tickets, make coffee, eat something, leave my house around 9:30 to my parts ticket (my parts are at a FedEx, so it's gotten to a point where the staff know me by name). I drop off my used parts, get my receipt, and pick up my new parts. then I get in my car, and call clients based on the tickets I get. if one is available, I drive to them, fix their computer, then get in my car, and repeat.Also, If the company is struggling. be -
