I was a distribution clerk for 34 years. We keyed the mail according to zip code and stack out the mail in sacks or contintans. We work any way from 40 to 50 plus hrs a week. Most of the supervision were decent.
early hours in the morning sometimes starting at one am would be the hardest part but then you would meet the truck bring the parcels in and distribute them to the right routes then after completing the parcels then you would do the P.O box session putting the mail for the right customers in the box.
Meet lots of great people on the route and build relationships, great for networking. Management very crooked and goes against policy, union reps are also corrupt. Pay has been inaccurate more times than I can count, no digital system, pay is tracked on paper and they have taken hours off purposely and have tried to cover it up. Different people held to different standards. The harder you work the more you have to pick up others slack and you're lucky if the pay is correct
