Promoting from within into high level management positions has killed the USPS. They think the people who got them into the financial mess that they are in are somehow going to get them out of it, (naïve or plain stupid). Need to axe 2/3 of the management and 1/3 of the dead wood clerks who don't care if they case 2 feet of mail per shift or 20 feet (and management doesn't care). They'll just make the other two thirds who actually work make up for the slack. Real fair system you got going there. No wonder half of the employees are on anti depressants or anti anxiety meds. The carriers work their butts off.
early hours in the morning sometimes starting at one am would be the hardest part but then you would meet the truck bring the parcels in and distribute them to the right routes then after completing the parcels then you would do the P.O box session putting the mail for the right customers in the box.
Meet lots of great people on the route and build relationships, great for networking. Management very crooked and goes against policy, union reps are also corrupt. Pay has been inaccurate more times than I can count, no digital system, pay is tracked on paper and they have taken hours off purposely and have tried to cover it up. Different people held to different standards. The harder you work the more you have to pick up others slack and you're lucky if the pay is correct
