It takes between 1-2 years to become a "regular" with your own route and until that time they will run you into the ground. You should be physically fit and not mind having zero free time. The benefits are excellent and the overtime is almost limitless. If you need a career, it's not the worst choice, but it is tiring. If you can stick it out for a couple of years, it can definitely be worth it, especially for the benefits and retirement.
