Macy's is a great part-time job to work at because of the flexible hours and they are understanding if you have school or another job. However, while they are flexible they also don't have many hours. I only work about 2 days out of the week but during the holidays is when it picks up.

This job was very competitive. I worked on commission plus hourly rate and it just never worked out. Came in at the end of the day when the rest of the team was on there way out. I had little to no training. The staff was nice, but lacked in other areas.

Macy's is a very good company to work for. They are very professional and the work environment is very balanced. Management is kind and understanding. The only reason I didn't stay is because I married and moved. I also went back to school.

The atmosphere was bad. The management constantly was asking people to stay and work after punching out, that meant staying with no pay. THey staying longer was hard on the employees who were taking bus to work. Staying longer was forcing people them to run to the bus stop to catch the last bus at night or even missing it. Management was pulling commissioned employees to work in non commission department depriving them of opportuning to make money in the department that they were hired for.

Macy’s could do so much better if the had better management and treated their employees better n with more respect. They don’t help their employees and pay pocket change they are all about magic but are really not good at it.. A happy employee makes a happy work place

Typical day at work consisted of speaking with customer and assisting with different fashion and lines of accounts. I learned a lot especially how different people around the world shops and spend there money and perks. Management was a bit of an issue due to company trying to find a manager who fits our new team. Everyone was very opening and friendly. The hardest part of the job was communicating with customer online chat which is a way customers can ask question online about items and accounts, orders they may have placed or plane to place. The days were very short so majority of the day was laid back and enjoyable.

Macy's is a good company if you put your head down and do what you are told you will get your minimum raises and can retire from there in a matter of 50 years. They strive to get people included in activities and clubs and make it a fun place to work but when it comes down to it its just a social club and if you are not in the exclusive part you will never advance past mid manager on an hourly level. They have a ton of loyal employees that bend over backwards and do not ever get a chance to be anything more than hourly. If you know someone in the upper levels you will be brought along ahead of others and place in a role that you have no experience in. Most people that work there figure it out with in a few years and others hang on hoping to break through or try a million different departments in order to get noticed. It really is a sad thing and after awhile it just steals your soul.
This is an exciting job were I get to assist customers with purchases and give them the Magic of Macy's.

Using MyClient list has enhanced my overall experience at Macy's. I am able to text or call customer to communicate sales events. Capitalizing on each customer visit can create a loyal customer to the store and brand.
