A typical work day includes rushing into the store frantically running around 20-30 minutes prior to opening putting together daily information sheets, Ipads, searching for current marketing pieces, and trying to conduct informational, yet motivational morning meetings. The primary goal of the company seems to be to drive credit, customer service, and to work you employees to death. Everyone runs around the store with high energy, and extremely high levels of stress. The staffing is minimal and in slower retail months, they expect you to take on more responsibilities and no increases in hours to work or pay.
Management for the most part is ok, however their are a couple of ignorant management employees that try to pressure you into completing their job for them. They are on a constant power trip and treat you as non equals.
Co-workers for the most part are all trying to work as a team to get through a tough stressful day.
The Hardest Part- Some co-workers do not answer management radio calls and put more stress onto those who are trying to complete at least one aspect of their job. Credit is hard to push when many workers are exhausted from being overworked and under paid. The company makes it extremely difficult to motivate good employees when you are not providing part time workers paid time off or allowing them to work over 25 hours!
Most enjoyable part of the job was before the company made the horrible changes of Ron J. Since then, working for JCPenney Inc. has been anything but enjoyable.
associate engagement, benefits are ok
short breaks, low pay, no room for advancement, extra responsibilities with no increase in hours and pay
