Managers never stick around. Usually they end up leaving or resign after inventory. No management help when things go wrong. Computers registers, printers always broken with no support to fix. Lack of supplies, people doing their job. Pay is unfair, underpaid, and favoritism goes on. Leads or supervisors care more about sitting in the back office eating snacks then involving themselves in the customer environment.
JCPenney can't decide what to sell or who the target market is. They are constantly adding new products at a great expense and then deciding it was a mistake and removing them. This is most evident with their Martha Stewart line as well as big ticket items such as furniture and appliances. They have been through many CEOs and none of them has been able to stabilize JCP. They are constantly hounding you for not getting enough credit applications. It is like working in a pressure cooker. Much stress.
Working at this specific location was fun. It would definitely be my suggestion for college students/seniors who need some extra cash and enjoy using their 25% discount! The management was a little high strung and annoying but the actual staff were pretty cool. If you’re looking for an actual career I’d say to choose a different department or look elsewhere.
A lot of overtime offered, very flexible with scheduling, very fun coworkers, great meeting new people and helping customers. Most of the customers were pleasant.
Not a career job, pay was low for an adult with bills or someone with kids, management was a bit high strung and contradictory
Absolutely loved working at the Salon. The employees were very helpful and kind, Management was great and they worked with you on any problem you had. The most enjoyable part about the job was having a great team to work with.
JCPenney is a fantastic retail sales company in the United States. JCPenney provides for their employees as the employees provide the company. The staff is s amazing as their customers. There is always a friendly environment passed through everyday.
Overall the company is not bad, Just the management needs a lot of communication and needs to be on task. Due to issues from time to time, managers doesn't help much when their employees are going through difficult.
Jcpenneys was a great company to get some sales associate experience. I loved the work environment and interacting with customers daily. Jcpenneys has great management and very flexible hours. This is an overall great company.
Working at jcpenney was a great experience for me. ALL the managers were so nice and easy to talk to. They made it fun to try to make as many friends as possible (trying to get customers to apply for a jcpenney credit card). They had drawings, prizes, giveaways, etc. Jcpenney was the best place I have ever worked for.
