At this place you will work hard. Goals are hard to reach and will take a lot of teamwork and strategic planning. It can be overwhelming and you will have to think on the fly and be able to change your plans. Hours are not ideal for a family. You are out in the weather elements.
Good Pay, Learn a lot, fast pace
Weather can be cold or hot, long hours, can be stressful
It's an okay place to work if you are looking for a place to just get a check. Over the years culture and moral there has declined. They do not follow up on things as they should. They over work staff and do not show any appreciation for a job well job nor show that employees are valued.
Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment. Verify that documentation matches physical freight description. Secure freight inside trailers by using appropriate tools and supplies. Record / Repair damaged freight when necessary. Assist customers with freight and perform other duties as required.
Overall it isn’t a terrible place to work. If you can manage to just do your job and not try to fix every little problem in the building you’ll be fine. If you are like me and want perfection at every corner, white glove and so on, it can be challenging.
There are so many avenues you can venture off into with this company. When you show management you want to do more they provide you with the tools for growth. I started as a city driver moved to road then into management The pay is good and you bump up progressively hourly employees paid weekly. The downside management is paid twice a month it’s constant training. Management misses the target a lot sometimes. The upside hourly is paid weekly there is constant training and if they need volunteers you are always allowed to travel and they cover all expenses and if you come out of pocket they reimburse you and don'ttax that check they cut you. Bonuses are good could be more than 2.3% of your yearly gross stock options are healthy I love It though overall been here over 2 yrs
Corporate Policy in not evenly enforces. Lot of favoritism Dont give honest suggestion.. that may bite you You have to watch out for who will make allegation for you. I worked there for 15 years and will not recommend anyone to take the supervisory position...STAY AWAY
no job security for hard working honest employees.
FedEx is a corporation. If express is doing bad the whole stock does bad and that effects your bonus. Last year we were guaranteed 7500 for the size of our hub and our bonus is typically 5k for managers. We got none. They continue to keep paper on employees so if they need to "trim the fat" they just choose who they dont like (politics) and have a paper trail. You dont have to be notified when verbal get put in your file
FedEx is a very fair company but they want you to work. They expect the sacrifice and it does pay off. Work and home life doesn't really have a balance. Accountability is required and improvement is expected without fail.
FedEx was not a bad company to work for. They offered great benefits and semi-competitive salaries. The real issues were company culture and home life flexibility. We were expected to work insanely long hours with no compensation. The schedules did not promote a healthy home life.
This company pays lip service to training and tends to be very reactionary rather than proactive with training. I had some good times but it wasn't the job I was promised. Nearly two years on nights, work life balance is nonexistent.
