It's was a little challenging at times loading and unloading planes. Unloading time was 15 to 20 minutes on each plane that came in we worked as a team loading was kind of hard at times we had an hour to load the plane they were on an schedule for take off. It's a great company to work at.
Fed Ex Was definitely A Good Work experience I learned more things and yes I would go back. Sometimes I was thinking to my self to give up but I stayed and started to learn more things and that’s all I ever see anted was work experience for I can know many things
great place to work. It was a second job for me they were very
understanding with my schedule with my full time job. plenty of overtime
plenty of room for advancement. i enjoyed my time there and like i said it was a second job to my full time job, received a lot of rewards and the holidays we were given gifts. they also cooked for for the employees fed ex is very good to the hourly employees, i worked for ups for 6 years and never received the types of gifts we were given at fed ex.
The job is very physically demanding and very fast paced. The work is easy but you are pushed to be done yesterday on a task you started today. For the hours worked versus pay it is not very rewarding.
terrible upper management
was harassed and mocked on a regular basis
health conditions were ignored
requested time off was rarely put in when requested
paid time off wasn't counted correctly
Fed ex is a robot that dosent understand the limits of human physicality . The managers at fedex are encouraged to push employees to a professional athlete level of physical stress muscles are torn, tendons are plucked and bones are fractured all in the name of absolute efficiency. Beneath the surface there is a social structure not unlike that of a prison or a bording school . The popular or beautyfull members of the staff can often find niches and nooks to slip through into easier work and ride waves into less demanding positions
I was only there for a short period of time due to car problems. I was a loader and it was another pretty easy job. Packages would come down a conveyor line and i would have to load them properly according to size and shape. I was then moved to the unloading section which was just the opposite.l
Loading and unloading trucks. Kept me fit. But I was taking 14 hours at Cape Fear Community College. Exhausted. Then Hurricane destroyed my apartment. I couldn't find reasonable housing. FedEX was great. No complaints. I'd love to work there again.
I actually enjoyed working at FedEx. Your work day goes by quickly. Management is friendly. And they are willing to work with you if you had any issues. They would provide breakfast for us sometimes. In the summer, they would give us free Gatorade. The pay is good but not enough hours. You would def need another job while working here. My other issue is I have a very bad back and can't load trucks or do any physical work anymore. I kept having to call out of work because work was hurting my back. Other than that, I enjoyed FedEx. Unfortunately, I had to quit due to my back problems.
FedEx taught me how to coordinate cut times and freight management. The way FedEx works is comparable to a bee hive. Everything goes smooth and proper. From the top CEO to the Part Time employee everyone plays their part.
