Working in a warehouse environment with extremely physical work that has to be done quickly to get mail to customers. Not much compensation and mostly part-time work. There is some opportunity for advancement, but it is difficult to advance unless you are willing to relocate. Good for a part-time job if you have other sources of income.
An early start around 5am , I then have to sort parcels out in accordance with their delivery location. The van has to be loaded in the correct order . Before leaving the depot I have to run checks on the van to make sure it is suitable for the day ahead & is not overweight. I leave the depot & am out on the road all day , starting with meeting timed deliverys,100 drops on average per day some extremely heavy.
Expected to load truck for free which could take between 1hr. To 3hrs. Before able to leave and head to first paid stop. Oh yes, you get paid by the stops that you do, not hourly. Also open 7 days a week so do not expect to get 2 days off in a row. No consistency with anything which makes it difficult to be efficient and make enough stops per day to make enough money without working 6-7 days a week
Great company to work for.... world class. Discounts on flights, hotel, car rental. Great staff with attitude respect for employees. Clean tidy work area, happy employees, constantly being rewarded with food, snacks, beverages.
I’ve worked with fedex for 5 years. I would recommend this job to any hard working person out there. Fedex recognize the hard working people, and you can get an extra check for doing so this is called a bravo Zulu. Everyone at fedex is there to work and get paid so if your a hard worker with the mind set to proceed higher into the company you will do so as everyone there will help you succeed.
Steady pay. You earn that pay, hard work. It's good if you like to work alone. The more you do, the more they expect for the same money. Basically it's all about the bottom line not about the employees.
No one standing over you. Working alone.
Employees are not a priorty. They just want the job done.
