Good job to have as a secondary source of income but you're technically a personal contractor so nothing really falls on them. App can be terrible at times and the interface is in dire need of an update.

Easy and simple you just have to pick the right orders. Make sure you do it at the right times so you’re not stuck waiting on orders. Can choose which orders.

Slow sometimes but u can make a few dollars if you put in enough work the Detroit area can be slow and a lot of people don’t like to tip as much just the bare minimum

Good Side Gig

DoorDash is a good side gig. You can essentially work whenever you want. The downside to Doordash is getting orders that are high enough to cover car wear and tear and gas. Orders of that size are usually only good during peak hours.

Each day is different. Some days I would make $100 some days I would only make 25. It all depends on how much you wanna work and how much you wanna drive.

Decent for between other things

If you live in a city and need some extra money it can be good. It's very inconsistent though and is hard on your vehicle. Easy to sign up and start if you need an income supplement

Low pay, long miles, mind games

The majority of the orders I see are less than a dollar a mile. The base pay is $2.00, so unless there is a tip, the trip is not worth the gas. Some orders are good, it just depends on your market and the time of day. Doordash uses metrics to persuade you to take the no tip $2 orders.

Low offers for high miles. Working for 3 years making top dasher every month for them to just lock your account with no explanation of why. Numerous calls result in multiple answers with no resolution. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?The company itself was good to work for in the beginning. Has become toxic and they treat their drivers like they are second class citizens instead of realizing without them the company wouldn't exist. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Working 10 to 12 hours driving up to 200 plus miles to make $150 to $200 not including you haven't paid your taxes, gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, insurance, and phone bill.... all needed expenses to make it all happen.

Doordash you can do whenever you like make decent bonus money as well ! I wouldn't recommend it as your main source of income it can get stressful and challenging to balance.

Flexible hours/ unfair pay and no vacation or benefits

It’s a good job if you need the flexibility. It’s nice not having someone tell you what to do all day, and just driving around listening to music. Sometimes you meet some really nice and cool people. You heavily rely on tips to make any real money. Sometimes they will send you ridiculous orders like $4 to drive across the city. Sometimes you’ll get great orders like $11-$15 for the same distance. It all depends on tips. You can accept and decline any orders they give you but your rates will drop if you keep declining. You must have a EV for it to make sense financially. I think if they gave full time dashers vacation pay, sick days and some kind of benefits it would be a great job.

Convenient and flexible

Convenient to work for and I get to make my own schedule. The downside is that it puts a lot of miles on your car but is definitely a good temporary job a side gig.

Other than taxes working for Door dash is great.

The only thing I don't like about Door dash is that they make you responsible for your taxes. If you are really low- income before you even started being responsible for paying taxes instead of them taking care of it, can be overwhelming.

If you pick and choose wisely you earn a fair wage but you have to be willing to pass or you end up making $10 an hour that gets taxes obviously 🙄. Go in with your eyes open and be grateful to have flexible hours ir being your own boss helps keep a smile on your face I have found.

High volume sales role. Good perks and benefits. Great managers and teamculture even remote. Too many meetings and unrealistic goals. Lot of changes

It is what you make of it

You really have to hustle and understand your area and customers to make any decent pay. Great for a side job for extra cash.Typical day: drive to an area and wait for an offer. Decline 10-15 offers to drive ten miles for two dollars. Receive an offer that's not totally horrible, drive to restaurant and pick up food. Take it to customer who almost always wants it to be left by the door while they are watching. Hope you get a tip and they don't try to say you never delivered. Hope the restauraunt didn't make a mistake that you will get a bad rating for. Drive back to your hot spot and start all over again.

You choose your hours, if you’re top dasher you don’t even need to schedule. You can definitely make some extra cash. It can get annoying though. Some trips are not worth the money and sometimes business is slow

The Hustle is Worth It, If You Try

I've only been dashing for a couple of weeks now, but thoroughly love it. FYI, when you sign up with Door Dash, you are an independent contractor, not an employee, so keep that in mind with money made, to put some aside for taxes (anything over $600). As with any job, you get out of it what you put into it. Work the Promos if you can with the monetary incentive. I've no complaint on the money because I agreed to it when I signed on. The money can be good if you take the time to check out surrounding cities and see what works best for you. The best part of being a dasher is being able to make my own schedule and meeting new people. I love driving anyway, so this is right up my alley. The worst part of working with Door Dash is the shopping at Dollar General because the internet connection in the store is horrible and makes it difficult to scan items unless you are right beside the door. But that is not a Door Dash problem, that's DG. Which now brings me to Door Dash support. I would say that Door Dash has a great support system. They have been most helpful anytime I have called or requested support via chat. After each support session there is a survey, so if one isn't pleased, they can let it be known on the survey, js. WHAT YOU GET OUT OF WORKING WITH DOOR DASH IS DEPENDENT UPON WHAT EFFORT YOU PUT INTO IT.
