I liked working at the Dollar Store in Sterling Park Va. The customers were friendly, my manager was nice and the cash register was very easy to use. Why I left was because the hours and money were awful and there wasn’t that much of an opportunity for advancement.
Easy work, nice manager and coworkers, friendly customers
Below average pay, lack of hours, benefits
I loved working at dollar tree we were the top store in north topeka my bosses were awesome an professional but sturn when needed but showed support at hard times an worked as a team
Short breaks an no discount on anything
Dollar tree was a good and easy company to work for. Dollar tree just did not pay its associates good which made each store have a high turnover rate.
got a chance to hire who you wanted and when you wanted
the pay was low for associates
The job is pretty easy and lay back. Managers are nice and coworkers are helpful. The shifts are only about 5 hours long. The only ones that get full time hours and benefits are the Managers everyone else is only parttime so you get no benefits. Other than that job is pretty good
Short work days

I liked working there, but lots of drama. Cashiers were better than most of the managers and actually cared. A lot of people talked about other people and that caused drama.
Specific manager I don't like
Dollar Tree really works with your schedule. They really care about your schooling. They really care about you they are really friendly also well. This is a good job.
Very Friendly Associates/ Management
Not A lot Of Hours
I wasted 5 years with this company. I went from seasonal cashier to store manager and the further you progress the worse they treat you. Yes I have some good experiences, I did have some good coworkers and managers. The bad far outweighs the good. This company claims to care about their people but they do not.
Manager daughter sleeps with you then you get in trouble for it worst place to work at the pay is minimal with bi weekly pay as well as treatment of that of a 5 year old
Low hours Bi weekly pay horrendous management
The staff was great to work with and was all team players. The pay was really low and I could not pay bills with 7.45$ an hour with working over all the time ,if it payed more I would probably still work there.
Was a smaller store
The store was hot all the time
In my experience I was treated badly by my manager until it was brought up) I was harassed by customers and I was paid low. It's just not worth the emotional strain.
No benefits for part-time workers and low pay
Managers will not work with your schedule. No one cares about anything or anyone.i would never recommend this company in a million years. They do not have a current store manager and haven't since December. The assistant managers do not care.
Everything is sad
It was fun and fast pace love the customer only thing they don't offer discount or benefit and more days/ hours. Some of managers I enjoyed working with and I love the team work
It was an ok job. Really repetitive. Just labeling product and placing them onto a conveyor belt. They expect you to pick at a rate that's not realistic even tho i was hitting the numbers 90% of the people were not. Alot of lazy co workers. Supervisor's were pretty cool.
Be prepared to have zero family life outside of work. You’ll be asked to achieve high expectations with little to no assistance and be prepared to get threatened if the store doesn’t meet those expectations. I can’t count how many times I’ve been stuck on a register as a cashier cause we’ve been allocated to have the bare minimum hours for the week. Which a lot of times you’ll have no hours to give your stockers so it leaves you and your Asm’s the task of stocking shelves, unloading 1500 case truck, frozen delivery, stocking freezers, jumping on register when your cashier has a line, recovery, accepting deliveries, and tasks upper level will add and this is all weekly! Then upper management pops up asking why the store looks the way it does giving you no less than a day to straighten and stock shelves. It’s constant game of catch-up I can’t tell you enough that you’ll be running bk n forth doing this doing that always with a sense of HIGH URGENCY! The business model they have set up is geared to failure putting the most amount of BS on 1 person just is ridiculous. They expect your stockroom to be empty but yet won’t give you hours to have stockers! So it’s flawed and set up for failure but you’ll hear them say “other stores don’t have this problem” yet those stores get the hours to have stockers and a cashier. How can you stock and get things done if your the only one in the store? Sometimes I wonder if upper management has any common sense? If your management basically all your doing is STOCKING, Stocking, Stocking and bk n forth to assist your cashier that is what your days - több...
Writing your own schedule but in actuality you only get 1 Saturday a month, must work on day truck delivered, Monday’s for conference call, Friday’s and must close 1 night a week it must all total = 51 hours
No life outside of work
