Working at Chick-fil-a was a fun place to work , but the managers were not the best. I would come in be handed keys and a card which are what the managers use and the managers would go play on their phones in the back, until something is either not working or they actually wanted to do their job. Which was very annoying when one day i had to take the orders on the front bag the orders after I took them then I also had to run them out to the tables.
It was horrible, honestly you do not get free meals, they over schedule you and then say it is your fault. Then the make you do jobs that are not supposed to be. They also have a point system that is horrible, if you miss one day of work you get 6 points and then if you call off once you get another 6 points and they suspend you for a whole week. Within a 6 month basis.
At this particular location, one manager was known for making the brown and black employees work outside in smoldering conditions. It was so severe that 3 employees threw up in one shift, 1 fell out and a customer had to tell the drive through worker that we needed water because they wouldn’t pay attention to the head sets. We were allowed to come inside once during a 8 hour shift for a 30 minute break and told we needed to “hurry and finish eating” because the other employees were ready to come inside after 30 minutes. Mind you, the heat index for the whole month was more than 112 degrees
Its very refreshing being in a place that allowed me to be able to give back to the community. It was nice to be able to make peoples days. There is a bit of favoritism that goes on in the store though.
Enjoyed working here. They were very flexible with scheduling. I worked here throughout my college education with a different schedule each semester and they worked with me so that I could still get thirty hours a week.
Fast-paced work with guest satisfaction as the priority. As a member of the front of house, there were lots of moments where there were long holds on food because the kitchen would not properly communicate with the people in front.
It’s a great job to work for when you actually have a great team behind you. At times it can be a very intense rush hour at the restaurant and things can get steamy between customers and between coworkers. But if you have a strong head you can tackle anything.
