The dream job

Home daily n take home is 1k after taxes . The team is amazing! You feel appreciated n have a lot of room to breathe. Definitely a place you wanna work until u retire.

Daily route hrly pay, 401k match great benefits, more vacations then im use too, freedom, great management, uniform allotment every yr gifts and bonuses

70 hr trucker week like OTR so no overtime pay, That n the holiday bonuses that Mercedes get would make this the perfect job.

Low pay

No Layover pay to stay out each night. How you're paid mileage and stops dosent work you loose money. Only good thing you get your own truck .each li

Great company

Awesome company to work for. New Tractors and trailers. Do your job and they leave you alone. Pay and benefits are good. Pay is comparable to competitors.

Not an intelligent company !

Working for Averitt is a mistake to any driver !! They have no customers worth hauling for ! ! They wanna push a driver to drive over there hours of service with 65 mph trucks . To a bunch of customers that are not worth deliverying too . Almost every customer i delivered or pickup from was junky and run down places . Attitudes galore . They quit hauling walmart because walmart would put boots on the averitt trucks for spending the night at there DCs .Because Averitt wants to push u to drive till u are completely out of driving hours of service time . The company made me wait a month and a half for a road test because they only road test one person at a time upon hiring . The load planners have no clue what they are doing . I ran southeast regional for them . Also they only want u getting Fuel at there terminals so forget your shower points at the truck stops . The only truck stop fuel u will be getting is for emergencys only they call it so basicly u are out of fuel and theres no terminals around and by the way all there terminals do not have fuel !!! if i could rate this company on negative stars i would ! Would be better off scrubbing toilets for a living than driving for Averritt !!

Pay could be better for the work that is done but overall they are a good company to work for and a good environment to work in. Good benefits and good leadership.

No upward movement

Just another mega carrier that pretends to care about its drivers but in reality you’re just another number. For the good paying LTL jobs the company prefers to outside hire. Pretty good benefits but bottom end pay and no upward movement.

Monotonous

They are all about the money. Leadership actually said, if you can't hack it, get your jacket...and if you aren't having a bad day, the company can't be having a good day. They believe the lie that whoever dies with the most toys wins. You've been warned.

Nice place to work

Averitt express is a nice place to work.. They have plenty of terminals and keep you busy all year round. They are always growing and evolving at Averitt.

It was a job and it paid the bills.

What is the best part of working at the company?I personally liked my pay! I hated the hours, and dispatch was NOT my favorite bunch of folks. As a matter of fact, I had 15 years spotless driving record. If dispatch wasn’t so jacked up, I’d probably stayed and I would’ve been there for almost 24 years. Who knows, FYI dispatch is run or use to be run by a bunch of college kids, who never been inside a truck! Much less drove, been on a trip, just keyboard warriors. So after 15 I gave it up! If you work there, get a management job, so you can be the boss and go home at night! What is the most stressful part about working at the company?The clock! Every load is timed, and you have to be there within 30 minutes of that scheduled time. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Could’ve been better. All in all it was to bad, a lot of sitting around and waiting. What is a typical day like for you at the company?I worked LTL nights, sleep all day and drive all night, mostly, it’s stressful at times, I’m glad I made it.

Great place but long hours

Great place to work but they’ll work you to death there. Sometimes 12-15 hours a day. Management didn’t care about you or what you had going on but co workers were great.

Good place to work

Good place to work. They have guaranteed pay as long as you are available to work Monday thru Friday. You will work Saturdays and usually home before 12pm on Saturday.

Solid

Not a bad place to work necessarily, they base everything off seniority. So typically, the newer guys get the hardest/most work. While the more seasoned employees get to sit around. Benefits are pretty good but expensive. Management left a lot to be desired.

Nothing bad to say. Great benefits and must work hard. LTL is a a fast paced world that can be very rewarding. Work hard and you will make it. It is not for the faint of heart.

They care about drivers

Pay could be better but the amenities are nice. Fuel stations at most of their service centers, good equipment. Just needed more money and didn’t want to go back on the road.

Decent Pay, Trucks & Terminals

Average Trucker life: traffic, sometimes bad attitudes from shippers, consignees, long un/load wait times, re-routed by local authorities, finding a place to sleep. More importantly for me, trying to eat healthy & I did not own a fridge or microwave.Home time may not be long enough to handle personal business that must be dealt with on a Mon-Fri basis....The best part for me was seeing the country, meeting new people, making a decent wage to live on, driving solo and being able to shower at a clean terminal.
