Be careful and do research before you start

American Income is probably one of the worst employers I have worked with. There is no base salary, limited training and dishonest management. If you have your own network and know how to scam people this is the ideal job for you. Management tries to recruit lots of people because they also get a cut. Overall, they over promise and under deliver.

Money Motivated

Typical work day starts around 4 or 5pm and lasts until 9pm. As to reach more customers during their off hours. I learned that commission pay is brutal when you are not a salesperson.One side of management was positive and uplifting during the weekly Monday meeting. Providing quotes, books and inspirational words. The other was foul-mouthed and intimidating. Culture was extremely competitive. If you are not making money you are not a part of the in crowd.Selling was the hardest part. The most enjoyable part of the job was working from home and evening hours.

Poorly ran company, false promises

Promised certain things such as work from home, xyz pay and when it came to actually requesting those, they were denied. The office had multiple desks in one large room, you could hear everyones conversations. No real support from management . You are paid based off of what you sell.

I’d give it negative stars if I could.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?13 hours/day, glued to a chair, making pointless phone calls, for a few hundred dollars earned in six months. Selling prized possessions because you’ve no money coming in. Not able to converse with family over dinner because you’re melting down your phone.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Sucks! They blow lots of multi-colored smoke up your skirt, then disparage you for believing them when they think you’re out of earshot.What is a typical day like for you at the company?Lousy. You've got to be able to memorize scripts and act your part

You're expected to show up for trainings but you don't get paid for it. You're given scripts to memorize and then you make cold calls to try to get a sit for a meeting.Then you "play your part" . Try to sell. Or upsell.

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing at all was good. Poor structure. Didn’t make any money but lost a lot.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Not making an income when I was promised that I would. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Hyped up and unrealistic expectations for all 1099 workers. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Making 200 calls and hoping to get an appointment and hoping to get a sale and hoping it would stick and wouldn’t chargeback in a month.

Easy going, must put the effort in if you want to make money.

You must prepare yourself to be hung up on alot or to talk to voice-mail 99% of the time. Most people don't remember signing up for a phone call and a majority of them did not so you are still cold calling in the people eyes.

1099 ONLY, no full-time/part-time. They provide strong sales training and leads for your first couple of months then pressured to recruit friends and family over selling insurance.

hopefully you get a great mentor otherwise it will be hard to get sales. its a hit or miss. if you have someone care for your success it is a wonderful 1099 place to work for.

It was fun until it wasn’t. There’s better ways to be an independent contractor if that’s what you’re looking for.

What is the best part of working at the company?Being an independent contractor is the best and worst part of the company. They essentially get free labor unless you sell a policy. Those commissions can be taken back if someone cancels within 6 months. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?No support system, sink or swim.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Toxic is the nicest way to put it. It’s ok to deal with if you can remove yourself from the reality of it.What is a typical day like for you at the company?Making phone calls to set appointments, driving to those appointments, making more phone calls to set appointments when those appointments don’t show up and then chasing down people who want to cancel their policy so they don’t take your commission back. Oh yeah and sometimes you sell something. Monday’s and Thursday’s everyone gets together to book appointments and drink at the office.

Horrible Leadership

Constant chargebacks and unethical work practices. I felt uncomfortable sticking to the script because it was completely truthful or ethical in my opinion.The company itself "American Income Life" isn't that bad. However, the way my particular office was run made this a terrible position. They have a high turnover rate for employees and you may leave more in debt than you were before working there.

What is the best part of working at the company?The coworkers were good people, hard working, supportive, eager to help you learn. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?The instability of the commission based pay. Also often you write a policy and it would fall off shortly after meaning you wasted your time. Oh and it was at home sales, so you're going into someone's house which always weird.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Its an MLM. The culture is weird and gives off the odd '"We're all going to make it big" vibe but at some level we all know there's a limit to how possible that is What is a typical day like for you at the company?Morning at the office, drive out to appointments, do them, try to get new leads while at the apartment, call those leads from the road, rinse and repeat.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?It’s all about, and only about the money to the leadership. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Money guns, and “what have you done for me lately?”What is a typical day like for you at the company?Dial the phone for hours on end, hope to get ahold of someone, then try and sell them. Most will present to you a “1pm-10pm” day, but it’s more like a 8am-10pm day, because you only make money if you sell.

Good people, repetitive work with high amounts of hours, remote or on site. No guarantee of successful sales, mostly calling families that work with a union or government agency.

It has quite a dynamic culture, receive lots of support from the people around you. However, sales is sales and it can be quite draining and there is always a high turnover

The positive I took away from this job, was it taught me a level of persistence I didn't know was in me.

What is the best part of working at the company?Educate yourself on MLM's before getting tricked into the smoke and mirrors of these types of organizations. They all use the exact same playbook, don't be fooled.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?100% Commission, heavily used lead packs, Zero integrity business model, You are lied to at every level, while being coerced into lying to the customers as well. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Smoke and Mirrors, worship your illustrious leaders, and if you just make 1,500 dials a week, you'll be rich in no time. You are under constant pressure to increase your numbers to a point that it creates a culture of false reporting, fake appointments, fake sales (=chargebacks), all while being treated as though no amount of hours worked for a straight commission job are ever enough.What is a typical day like for you at the company?You are initially lied to during the indoctrination period (Bootcamp) and for the 1st 90 days you're expected to put in 60+ hour works. 8-9:30am Leader Worship- Listen to leadership stroke each other's egos about how much money they made the company yesterday and what an ungrateful wretch YOU are for not doing MORE!!!10am-1pm Dial Dial DialSpend the morning harassing poor & elderly people into buying burial insurance that will most likely not pay out for one reason or another. 1-2 Lunch (Don't think your leaving or taking a break because you still have to dials to make eat between dials)2-3 Sales training- this is where you are trained in -
